Parashqevi Simaku signed a contract in Hollywood

Parashqevi Simaku has signed a contract in Hollywood for her new CD in Albanian language titled Echoes from Iliria (Jehone nga Iliria).

Parashqevi Simaku CD to be manufactured and distributed by Sony/BMG in the USA.

New York based Muza Records and Hollywood based Lunaticworks and Reincarnate Music announce the signing of recording artist Simaku (aka Parashqevi Simaku) to a worldwide recording and publishing deal in connection with her new Albanian language CD Echoes from Iliria. In the USA, the album will be manufactured and distributed by Sony/BMG Music Entertainment (Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Britney Spears).

Echoes from Iliria is 10 original songs in Albanian-language mixing ancient Albanian "Popullore" (folk) and American modernism. Simaku wrote and produced the album with her producer/guitar player and husband Robert Nolfe. The full-length CD will be released by Sony/BMG in US stores on February 21st and is available for pre-sale at the websites of Tower Records, Amazon, Best Buy, Circuit City among others. Albanian Star Simaku Releases Her First US Album and Donates CDs to Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia

Parashqevi Simaku's Echoes from Iliria (Jehone nga Ilria), her new Albanian world music album, is now available for download from iTunes, the leading online distributor of digital music in the world. iTunes is owned by US computer giant Apple. This is in addition to Sony/BMG Entertainment's distribution of Simaku's new CD in US record stores such as Tower Records, Virgin Megastores and Borders.

Simaku's Echoes from Iliria (Jehone nga Iliria) is also now being featured at Virgin Megastores's listening stations where her music can be previewed with headphones. World music is one of the top sellers in their Manhattan stores due New York's international profile with Virgins's flagship store located in the infamous Times Square.

Simaku recently performed live at Borders in Manhattan where over 100 fans attended and Albanian music was shared with a cosmopolitan public including Stan Dragoti, Fadil Berisha, Donika Bardha, Gary Kokalari and Tony Dovalani, who recently starred on ABC Television's spektaklin amerikan "Vallezim me yjet". After a successful event at Borders Books & Music in Manhattan (New York City), Simaku is embarking on a six-city promotional tour in the United States, sponsored by Sony/BMG and Borders. By hosting Simaku at these events, Borders is promoting Albanian music like the works of best-selling authors, music superstars and notable dignitaries such as Madeline Albright, Andrea Bocelli and Ted Kennedy.

Echoes from Iliria, the new CD written, recorded and produced by Simaku and her husband Robert Nolfe, is an eclectic, culturally significant blend of Albanian folklore, international flavors and American modernism.

Simaku and Robert will perform songs from their new album and will sign autographs immediately following each performance.

Sony Music welcomes Simaku and her Echoes from Iliria to Canada

Continuing her tour in the US, Simaku is performing a live set Saturday May 20th at 7pm at Borders Books & Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
